Sahar Nikanjam is a first-generation Iranian-American abstract artist based on Chicago’s North Shore. Her work explores themes of presence, resilience, gratitude, and transformation through layered compositions rich in texture, movement, and light. Working with acrylic, modeling paste, sand, spray paint, and gold leaf, Nikanjam creates paintings that balance organic flow with intentional structure. Inspired by nature, spirituality, and her Persian heritage, her work invites viewers to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and find beauty in both stillness and change.
After building a career as an attorney while raising a family, Nikanjam returned to her creative practice as a way to reconnect with her creative voice. Her paintings are held in private collections across the United States and reflect her belief that art can create moments of reflection, connection, and hope.
